Raiders and City Of Oakland Taking Construction Bids On New NFL Stadium

Raiders and City Of Oakland Taking Construction Bids On New NFL Stadium
Oakland Raiders and City of Oakland Taking Construction Bids On New NFL Stadium While what's left of the mainstream media tries to (for some strange unknown reason) help Sheldon Adelson and Mark Davis craft a myth that the Raiders are leaving Oakland for Las Vegas, the truth of the progress of the City of Oakland and County of Alameda and the same NFL team toward building a new stadium in Oakland is covered up, save for the work of bloggers / vloggers – in this space. A number of tweets reporting that the City of Oakland was surveying major construction contractors with stadium building experience was confirmed by a well-placed source on this 4th of July morning. Two firms, Turner Construction Company (which built Levi's Stadium where the San Francisco 49ers play) and J Albanese were two of a number of organizations contacted and asked to submit bids on not just the construction of a Raiders stadium, but with respect to various possible stadium configurations, including one with a new facility for the Oakland Athletics. I've not been able to confirm the Athletics role in this, but until I do, it's fair to say the Oakland A's are working on two tracks: Howard Terminal and the easier-to-build-on existing Coliseum site. While my sources have said the A's want Howard Terminal, there's more to be gained in my view by staying at the Coliseum and working something out with the Raiders. On the matter of the Raiders side of the construction bid news, this also ads detail to my previous report about the cost study the Raiders were working on and headed by new employee Larry McNeil. And yes, the same Larry McNeil who headed the effort to build Levi's Stadium. Some readers and viewers have asked me how the Raiders can 'work' on Las Vegas and Oakland at the same time? Well, the answer is the Raiders aren't working on Las Vegas, so much as focusing on the politics around a possible stadium there. Meanwhile, there's no such hard political issue in Oakland, where the hard work and financing issues have been worked out, Ronnie Lott and his group have a financing plan, and the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda are working toward what will be the long term stadium solution that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has asked for, and for some time now. Stay tuned.
