Saying that he wanted players who wanted to win, new interim San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Mike Singletary gave a passioned post-game press conference after a game which saw the replacement for fired Head Coach Mike Nolan not only bench Tight End Vernon Davis but ordered him to the locker room for his reaction after a costly personal foul penalty.
I liked what Mike did, but I think it should be done behind closed doors.

Nobody would fault Mike Singletary to berate his team after the loss this past Sunday and to call out a player for their bad play is nothing new.
But to call out a player PUBLICLY in front of the media in the fashion that he did is classless.
Singletary, in this instance, is conceited. He came off as someone who believes losing is above his skill set. He seemed to take no accountability for his team's loss, even though that is what he's preaching.
What he seems to forget is that:
A) his team is talent-less
B) his team hasn't had a winning record for g-d knows how long
C) this is his first head-coaching gig.
D) hasn't had anything to offer as a winning coach, since this is his first job.
E) he doesn't play anymore.
I don't question Singletary's pride or his judgement. But to ask for 'winners' to coach is being a beggar and a chooser at the same time.
Samurai Mike cannot afford to be either.
